The Poet's Spring – Luminous Steles / "Notre Dame des Anges » Chapel

The present era doesn't belong to the artistic, stylistic or generational divisions of the precedent decades anymore. The artistic abundance, its heterogeneity in styles and ambitions as well as the coexistence on the same project of artists with various languages and expressions contribute to free the artistic and cultural fields from apprehension.

The luminous steles installation was conceived and showed in its totality (10 steles) for the 1st time in 2011 in the Sylvacane's Abbey for the "Deuil and grace" exhibition.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Poet's Spring, the Robion Association and its Words Transmitters have invited Lucile Travert to present artistic installations but also for in-situ interventions such as the plastipoetic journey, drawings, writings…

Like a guideline which invites the public to walk, enjoy, dream, discover and even to lose himself in Robion's places.

Two of the luminous steles are in Robion for this manifestation.

The first one is in the "Notre Dame de la Nativité" Church, at the start of the plastipoetic journey.

The second one is at the end of the journey, in the "Notre Dame des Anges" chapel.

A stele is an erected monolithic monument carrying an inscription or a carving.

It's a token and the memory of a body. There's water in its horizontal area which carry "floating drawings and writings" which are reflected in the mirror of the vertical area of the stele.

The image is reflected, extracted from its corporal envelope, disembodied. The goal is to feel the shift from horizontality to verticality through the movements of the original drawings and writings on the water and their reflection in the mirror.

It's kind of an alchemic geometry, project of a creation, the story of a life, between the lying and standing Man.

When the Poet's Spring will come to an end, the weather and time will erase the artworks piece by piece. This is a good way for us to remember that art do not always call for eternity.
