The Poet's Spring – « plastipoetic » journey

The present era doesn't belong to the artistic, stylistic or generational divisions of the precedent decades anymore. The artistic abundance, its heterogeneity in styles and ambitions as well as the coexistence on the same project of artists with various languages and expressions contribute to free the artistic and cultural fields from apprehension.

Robion takes up the challenge to make you meet poetry in the streets, the shops, the multimedia library, the post office or in "the Roumanière"'s courtyard.

The Poetic Squads lend their voices to poets from the whole world and share their message as "words transmitters".

The national theme of the 19th Poet's Spring invites us to explore the unfairly ill-known land of African Poetry.

Even if the major voices of Senghor, U Tam'si or Kateb Yacine have found their way here, we still have almost everything of the intensive African poetic production to discover.

Of course, this exploration must take in account voices out of the African continent, from the Antilles to Guyana, from Madagascar to Mayotte…

Founded in December 2013, the cultural association "Robion and the words transmitters" organizes event around reading in different places, plays a role in the cultural events and leads actions with the "Village in Poetry" label.

Intergenerational activities are organized throughout the year, sometimes with the LMV intercommunal multimedia library and Robion's town council.

Special moments for sharing: readings, discussions, songs at the retirement home.

For this new edition of the Poet's Spring, the Words Transmitters and Robion's multimedia library wanted to invite a visual artist to open the public's eye on poetry and detach it from a more formal and conventional landscape.

We can also find poetry in images, drawings, plastic arts and generally in all the visual arts that use creation in all its diversified and original shapes.

Lucile Travert, the guest artist, will make plastipoetic installations in symbolic places of Robion's patrimony to guide the visitor into a determined walking journey.

The artist finds the charm of our old stones to be a beautiful case for the poetic eyes we wish to highlight.

That's why she is going to use the upper-hand of the village and the other historical places of the Past and Present Robion.

In order to live a peculiar and original poetic moment Lucile Travert will present ephemeral artworks on a few walls of the village, along the pedestrian path or in the landscape of the village's orchard that leads to the chapel of "Notre Dame des Anges". They will complete the audio installations from the Pump.

When the Poet's Spring will come to an end, the weather and time will erase the artworks piece by piece. This is a good way for us to remember that art do not always call for eternity.
